General Knowledge at ur finger tips!!!

Friends, here is a new kinda quiz game for u all.... I'll pose 5 questions relating to General Knowledge n u will b given 3 choices for each question, u need to choose d right answer n post ur answers as a reply in d thread....I'll b  giving d answers along wid d necessary explanations on d next day...i.e, answers for todays questions will b given tommorow....

The member who gives right answers to all d 5 questions will b awarded  2 +ve karmas...even if there are more than one member who gives all right answer to d questions, all d members who give right answers will b awarded 2 +ve karmas....

everyday, along with d set of 5 questions, I'll give U ppl a choice to choose frm 3 topics for d next day's questions...for example, i may give 3 topics like questions based on cricket, questions based on politics, questions based on CEOs of major companies...U need to select d topic of ur interest..d poll will b closed on d next day n questions will b based on  d topic which gets d maximum number of votes...d other two topics which got lesser number of votes shall b carried forward along with a new topic for that days poll....

1. Which is the world's tallest building?
   
Ans: Taipei 101

On October 9, 2003, the uppermost and final spire segment was raised into place on Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan. At 509.2 meters, the 101-storey tower now officially holds the world's tallest building title previously held by Petronas Towers 1 & 2.Sears Tower, Chicago still holds the title of the world's tallest building to the tip of the antenna at 527 meters. Taipei 101 now also holds the highest roof (449 m) and highest occupied floor (439 m) titles. Architects say Taipei 101 is better equipped to withstand an attack similar to the September 9/11 on the World Trade Center, New York, allowing people more time to escape. The skyscraper of steel, concrete and glass houses a shopping mall, offices for 12,000 people, and the stock exchange.


2. Which is the world's tallest residential building?

Ans: 21st Tower , Dubai

The building, located in Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai is entirely pre-leased to Emirates Airlines to house its flight attendants. The tower includes a rooftop swimming pool and gymnasium. A 9-storey car park adjoins the main tower. Trump World Tower (262 m) was the world's tallest all-residential tower from 2000 to 2002, when it was surpassed by Tower Palace Three, Tower G (264-m). The 269-m high 21st Tower has 55 floors.

MVRDC World Trade Centre I in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai is 156 m high and has 35 floors. The building was developed by Shapoorji Pallonji and Pheroze Kudianawala was the architect. The Shreepati Arcade is the 2nd tallest building – 152.5 m high with 45 floors.
